I am a descendent of John Rapell of Gorey, Co. Wexford. Can anyone suggest further places where I can find information about the Palatine Germans who came to Ireland in the 1700s?
ReplyDeleteThanks,
Kathleen
There’s an Irish Palatine Museum in Rathkeale in County Limerick apparently. You could try there maybe.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sending out the Palatine list...saved my searching
ReplyDeleteHatrick is also Hornick, many of the descendants of this family go by Hornick.

ReplyDeleteI am interested in knowing information on the Oberbach family. If they were ever a part of the group that traveled and received the same priveliges. I know some of them have arrived in NY in 1709.
ReplyDeleteMy ancestor was John Rapell who lived on the Ram estate in Gorey. I would love to know more about John and his family, can anyone help or suggest where to go to find more information about him? Thanks
ReplyDeleteHas anyone got any information on the Rath families around Kilcormick County Wexford. The Rath surname is not listed in most references as being Palatine, but its a common German surname, and Raths were listed on English Board of Trade Shipping lists in the first party of Palatine refugees arriving into England.
ReplyDeleteI believe that I am a descendant of Philip Jeakle from Old Ross. I am looking for more information to link Philip Jeakle to his descendants Joseph Jeakle and Elizabeth Nappes both born ca. 1775 in either Old or New Ross. Joseph and Elizabeth are my 4th great grandparents.
